Delete Private Facebook Data Without Deleting Your Account

For those who are looking to prevent Facebook from sharing their private data without having to delete the account itself, looks like there are now a couple of ways to do it. As shared by BGR, there are two ways to disable your sensitive Facebook data from being shared, one of which is very easy while the other one requires a few more steps.

Disable

The first method is the easiest and requires you to go to your Facebook Settings > Apps > Apps, Websites and Plugins. Once there, simply click Disable Platform (as shown above). This will prevent Facebook from using your personal data to sign into other websites and apps, including Instagram.

The second option is in the same menu. Instead of Apps > Apps, Websites and Plugins, simply go to Apps Others Use and deselect everything on that list. Once done click Save. After that, go the Ads section of Facebook and turn off Facebook’s ability to collect data about you from the websites you visit.

Finally edit the Your information section to disable Facebook from sharing data about you with advertisers.

That’s it! Facebook should now have a much harder time collecting personal data and targeting you with ads.

… That is if Facebook itself doesn’t bypass those privacy settings. It’s only a question of bits after all! Yes, yes, I know: they must follow their own terms of service…. Yeah Right!

Who trusts Facebook to follow their own rules anyway? How would I even know if they complied with my settings updates?
