Dyson Canada has launched two new premium vacuum cleaners on Tuesday morning: the V15 Detect Total Clean and Omni-Glide.
The Dyson V15 Detect Total Clean features laser dust detection to illuminate particles your eyes can’t see, with an angled green laser built into a Fluffy cleaner head. Dyson says the laser is safe for both humans and pets.
With what Dyson calls Acoustic Dust Sensing technology, the laser “measures microscopic dust particles and displays the size and number on the LCD screen.”
“The Dyson V15 Detect uses adapted laser technology to scan for hidden dust, integrating a diode laser into the cleaner head that is precisely positioned at a 1.5-degree angle to create the best contrast between dust and floor,” said James Dyson, Chief Engineer and Founder, in an emailed statement to iPhone in Canada.
“We don’t think detection is enough, so we remove and meticulously size and count the particles 15,000 times a second using an acoustic piezo sensor which converts vibrations into electrical signals, displaying the size and number of particles sucked up on an LCD at the back of the vacuum. The Dyson V15 Detect is powerful and intelligent, giving the ultimate reassurance – scientific proof of a healthier, cleaner home,” added Dyson.
The V15 Detect Total Clean has up to 60 minutes of run time and its Dyson Hyperdymium motor spins up to 125,000rpm, in what the company says will “generate the most powerful suction of any other cordless vacuum.” This motor can generate up to 230 air watts of suction, while the five-stage filtration captures 99.99% of dust down to 0.3 microns in Boost mode, resulting in “the most powerful deep clean.”
Also included is a whole-machine HEPA filtration for the Dyson-exclusive V15 in gold colourway, an upgraded post-motor filter to keep contaminants and dust from flowing back into your home.
The V15 Detect Total Clean is available at Dyson Demo Stores in Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary, plus online at DysonCanada.ca for $949.99 CAD. We’ll have more on this vacuum soon, stay tuned.
Also launching today is the Dyson Omni-glide, the company’s slimmest and most maneuverable vacuum for hard floors. The Omni-glide is able to move in all directions with its omnidirectional soft roller cleaner head, featuring two rollers supported by four stabilizing castors.
The Dyson Omni-glide allows the vacuum to lay flat on the floor to easily clean under low furniture. It has a Hyperdymium motor that can spin up to 105,000rpm for strong suction and can last for 20 minutes on a single swappable battery, while also features touchless bin emptying.
