Facebook Introduces New ‘Home’ and ‘Feeds’ Tabs on iOS, Android Apps

Facebook has just announced new ‘Home’ and ‘Feeds’ tabs for iOS and Android users, that make it easier to customize what content you see and discover on the social media platform.

“Our discovery engine will recommend the content we think you’ll care most about,” said CEO Mark Zuckerberg. He added that one of the most requested features for Facebook is to make sure people don’t miss friends’ posts.

“We’re making it easier to find posts from your friends, Favorites, Groups, and Pages in a new tab called Feeds,” notes the social media giant.

You can also curate a Favorites list of the friends and Pages you care about most and filter their content in this new tab.

Here’s what you need to know about the new Facebook experience:

  • Home: The first thing you see when you open the app is “Home,” the primary tab. It is the starting point for connection, entertainment, and discovery on Facebook.
  • Feeds: Feeds show posts from the friends and communities you follow in the most recent order.
  • Personalizing your feed: You can curate a Favorites list of the friends and Pages you care about most and filter their content in this new tab.

Starting today, some people will see Feeds as a tab in their shortcut bar; on iOS. This bar is found at the bottom of the app, and on Android, it’s found at the top.

Facebook will be rolling out these updates globally over the next week.
