Google App on Android Gets Option to Delete Last 15 Minutes of Your Search History

Google has finally started rolling out the ability to delete the last 15 minutes of your search history to the Android version of its app — reports The Verge.

“We’re currently rolling this feature out on the Google app for Android and expect it to be available to everyone using the app in the next few weeks,” Google spokesperson Ned Adriance told the publication. “We’re continuing to explore ways to bring this helpful feature to other surfaces.”

The feature was originally announced at Google I/O back in May of last year, and it was added to Google’s iOS app in July. Google said at the time that the feature would make its way to Android later in the year but those claims never materialized and it, for some reason, took until now for the tech giant to bring the feature over to its own Operating System.

To check and see if you have the feature yet, open the Google app on Android, tap on your profile picture in the top-right corner, tap on Search history, and look for the Delete last 15 min option in the Delete dropdown menu.

Adriance told The Verge that Google is looking at “ways to bring this helpful feature to other surfaces,” but whether or not that will include desktop remains to be seen.

According to a report from October 2021, Google is also working to update all of its iOS apps with Apple’s design language for a more natural feel on the platform.
