The IKEA TRÅDFRI gateway works in conjunction with the IKEA Home smart app to allow you to control compatible smart devices from IKEA and works with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, Google Assistant and Sonos. In other words, you’ll be able to use your voice and ask Siri to control your IKEA smart home devices.

While it’s easy to turn on and off a light bulb with your Apple device or Siri, sometimes a physical short button is even more convenient. The button was spotted as in stock online in the U.S. by a Redditor, reports iMore

As for Canada, IKEA started offering its TRÅDFRI shortcut button in February for online purchase at an affordable price of $9.99 CAD each, confirmed a spokesperson to iPhone in Canada.

The button requires the $29.99 CAD TRÅDFRI gateway to work, plus for those seeking Apple HomeKit support, they will also need a HomeKit gateway in the form of either a HomePod, Apple TV, or iPad.

Earlier today, Apple announced Siri would be gaining new voices for English speakers and would no longer default the voice assistant as female.
