iOS 16 Said to Bring ‘Some Fresh Apple Apps’ and More: Report

Even though Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman doesn’t expect iOS 16 to be a major upgrade in terms of system design, he said in the latest edition of his Power On newsletter that we should still see several major changes across the operating system, news ways of interacting with it, and “some fresh Apple apps” (via MacRumors).

“While I don’t expect Apple to present a full redesign of the software, there should be major changes across the system, new ways of interacting and some fresh Apple apps. The news about watchOS 9 will be significant as well,” the renowned Apple leaker wrote.

iOS 16 is due to be unveiled at WWDC 2022, which is scheduled for June 6-10 in an online format once again.

WWDC focuses mainly on the software side of all things Apple. The Cupertino, California-based tech giant will also announce iPadOS 16, watchOS 9, macOS 13, and tvOS 16 at the event, alongside iOS 16.

What new ways Apple will introduce for users to interact with iOS is anyone’s best guess right now. More interactive widgets could be one possibility, while an improved notification system — which Gurman has previously hinted at — is another.
