‘iPhone 12 Pro’ to Feature 120Hz ProMotion Display, 4K Video Recording at 240fps: Report

Citing code found within the iOS 14 camera app, serial leaker Max Weinbach from EverythingApplePro has revealed that this year’s flagship ‘iPhone 12 Pro’ and ‘iPhone 12 Pro Max’ devices will feature the first smartphone cameras capable of recording 4K video at up to 240fps.

Weinbach notes that the text found within the camera’s application code points to a selection of new camera settings including 4K video capture at 120 fps as well as the aforementioned 4K, 240fps mode.

He also claims that the two flagship devices will most certainly sport 120Hz ProMotion displays similar to the iPad Pro models. For those who aren’t familiar, high refresh rate displays provide a significantly smoother and responsive user experience.

These high refresh rate displays could also pave the way for the rumoured Apple Pencil support on iPhones which requires the 120Hz panel to reduce latency.
