According to a regulatory filing spotted on the Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center (TENAA) website, Apple’s iPhone 12 Pro Max features a 7% smaller capacity battery as compared to last year’s iPhone 11 Pro Max (via RPRNA).
The new iPhone 12 Pro Max sports a battery with 3,687 mAh capacity, whereas the iPhone 11 Pro Max sported a bigger 3,969 mAh battery. But despite a smaller battery, Apple claims the iPhone 12 Pro Max performs similarly to last year’s iPhone 11 Pro Max, giving up to 20 hours of video playback.
Regulatory filings from Brazil’s ANATEL have also confirmed the battery capacities of the iPhone 12 Mini and iPhone 12 Pro, which are as follows:
- iPhone 12 Mini — 2,227 mAh
- iPhone 12 Pro — 2,815 mAh
With the release of the iPhone 12, Apple has also introduced a new battery-saving feature called “Smart Data Mode,” which automatically switches iPhones between 4G LTE and 5G.
