Apple has re-launched Reserve and Pick Up for iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus for customers, allowing them to choose their model of choice that’s in stock and pick up the next day at an Apple retail location. According to iPhone in Canada reader Dan, the system was live around 11:30PM PDT, Friday.
To set your Reserve and Pick Up, all you do is select your Apple Store first (if it’s showing available), then choose your phone model, capacity and colour. Jet Black is sold out and some Apple Stores don’t have iPhone 7 Plus available (i.e. Halifax and Ottawa as of writing).
Here are the list of stores available right now as of writing, where you can Reserve and Pick Up your iPhone 7:
As you can see, the stores in Metro Vancouver are unavailable right now, but those should go live later this morning (maybe 8AM PDT?). Once you’ve selected your store, you need to sign in with your Apple ID. After that, you are able to select the quantity you want to reserve (up to 2), plus set your check-in time window:
Do note that while it says these are for carrier reservations, you are able to “change your mind” at the time of your pick up and buy an unlocked version instead. Hey, not everybody wants a two-year contract, right?

Holy crap!!!
Just browsing stores in Toronto for 7 plus. Most stores have supplies, even matte black. But none had jet black. Even in Fairview store yest did not have jet black as display
All I’m getting is “We’re sorry, but this service is currently unavailable” after selecting the store, model and non-greyed out GB size.
Do I have to pick a new plan or can I still use my current phone plan?
Will they put up any more stock at 8am? There doesn’t seem to be anything else yet.

I was trying and trying, from 8-8:15am EST and around 8:10 Toronto Sherway Gardens seemed to get every colour of 7 Plus 128GB (which I was after) but it sold out while I was checking out. So disappointed.
Yes! I was so surprised to suddenly see stock of that model (same one I’m after as well) in black, but by the time I hit Submit on the reservation it was already unavailable 🙁
Yeah, what does “If you can’t find the model you want below, choose another store to find the model you’re looking for. Or you can check back beginning at 8:00 a.m.” mean anyway? It still says that and it’s 8:23 a.m.
Did a bit more research and I think the 8am is local time zone. I guess each store will be posting their stock at 8am every day…at least? *sigh*

did not see any black 128gb plus in any apple stores in BC for reso.. so reso’d a 256 instead…
Odd I just checked via the Apple Store app and 4/5 local BC stores had the matte black 128. Try again perhaps.

Ended up with a 128GB iPhone 7 Plus in GOLD which is less than ideal but I figured I might as well just get one in hand. I still haven’t opened it yet as I don’t know if I will keep or try to exchange. After seeing a Matte Black in store it was really really sleek. Can I exchange mine for black if I open it or should I keep it sealed until I can get my hands on a black?
Exchange it for the new black colour. You’ll have it for at least a year and you’ll probably regret keeping the gold in a couple months. I have the matte black one and it is very nice.

Apple has a 14-day return policy, no questions asked. You can still play around with the Gold one you have within that window, decide whether you really want to change it, and exchange it for a black one f you decide to go that way.

When I click the link on my iPhone, mobile safari doesn’t mention if you’re reserving a carrier locked vs factory unlocked version. I’m looking to reserve one to qualify for a Rogers locked subsidized price, but how do I know if that is possible when I reserve online?
Also the Apple Store app seems better for pickup reservations, because you choose your desired model and configuration, then it shows you which stores have it in stock.
You just reserve one and when you’re at the store say it’s an Activation with *carrier*.

Does the Apple Store do hardware upgrade for Rogers business or corporate accounts? Or is this strictly for consumer accounts on ShareEverything plans?

Opened the Apple Store app and reserved an iPhone 7 Plus 256GB Black. Picked it up a few hours later at eaton centre. Was in and out in 10 mins.

Finally was able to reserve a 7 plus in black. Could only find one in 256gb :/
Went online at 8:01am EST to reserve a 7 Plus 128gb gold at Yorkdale. By 8:02 it looked like almost all stock was gone. I do see more stores showing up around 11:30am but no more 7 Plus
So just want to confirm that you could just change your mind and buy it unlocked instead?
