iPhone 6S Rumoured to Feature Dual Lens and 3D Pressure Sensor
The next-generation iPhone will feature a dual camera lens capable of optical zoom and a 3D pressure sensor, say Apple supply chain sources speaking with UDN (via GforGames).

Since the iPhone is among the top devices used to capture and upload images to Flickr, Apple has decided (maybe) to upgrade the camera with other welcome features such as optical zoom.
In terms of tech specs, the next-generation iPhone will likely be similar to the currently available model, although supply chain sources say Apple will eliminate the 16 GB model and replace it with the 32 GB version currently missing from the lineup. Those using a 16 GB version are aware how fast they fill up their iPhone, so it would be a nice improvement from Apple.
The 3D pressure sensor would be a key element in the next-generation health care application, these sources say, naming TPK as the supplier. If we are to believe the sources, the Apple Watch will also pack a TPK-made pressure sensor. This is how the Watch, for example, will be able to distinguish a light tap and a deep press triggering contextual menus.

2nd paragraph… You forgot to include the word “maybe”, before the word “Apple”. Also, this is about optical zoom, but then you say it’s digital zoom. I don’t understand.
Fixed, thanks!
Sorry, but still confusing. Why would you say, “although this is optical zoom”? It’s like you’re saying it’s not a big deal because it’s only optical zoom. Shouldn’t the sentence just say “…other welcome features such as optical zoom”
Optical zoom already exists in the 6 Plus does it not?
Nope.
Maybe you’re thinking of optical image stabilization?
Actually I think the opposite of him… His comments are informative and interesting most of the time. Questioning someone isn’t picking a fight.
You sir are the one instigating a fight. You, on the other hand offered nothing valuable to the conversation. Seems to me like you’re the assh0le here…
is you a english teacher?
Al is iPhoneInCanada’s resident assh0le who comments on everything and then picks fights with everyone who disagrees with him. You know, one of those keyboard hotshots with no friends in the real world. Ignore him, it’s for his own good.

How about 2 GB of RAM and base models of the iphone starting at 32 GB not 16 with a lower price point? I know….it’s only a dream.
“Average” relative to what though? It can’t compare to dedicated cameras, but if comparing with other phones… the majority of Androids sold do *not* have a good camera, so the iPhone is still considerably above average… and such a picture is still better than no picture, as this Android-using author writes:
http://theverge.com/2015/1/13/7537011/iphone-6-camera-editorial
A surprising number of commenters there who use / have used Androids, agree that even if the latest iPhone’s camera isn’t the best technically in controlled tests, in real-world, catch-the-moment use it’s hard to beat right now.
Anyway… I would greatly welcome an optical zoom… even if it’s just 2x, it’s still better than any digital zoom.
I question the source article’s assertion that a “dual
lens” system is a “zoom”. It isn’t. It’s just two “prime” lenses, each at a slightly different focal length. A “zoom” lens provides a variable focal length. To my knowledge, a dual lens system just gives you a choice of either wide angle or telephoto (or perhaps more accurately, “not so wide angle”).
By the way Corephotonics has developed a dual-camera system and does mention “optical zoom” in its description. You can read more here: http://corephotonics.com/technologies/the-solution/
As best I can determine, it is false marketing hype. They are vague and don’t qualify or provide examples of actual “zoom” lens characteristics… just “telephoto”.
I just hope we’ll get 13-15mpx camera. Optical zoom would be amazing too, but they really have to step it up with the camera (not only the mpx), because Samsung is getting closer and closer and are offering a really great quality too.
