Jack Sweeney Claims He’s Discovered Mark Zuckerberg’s New Private Jet

Jack Sweeney, a 19-year-old known for tracking Elon Musk’s aircraft, has now claimed that he has discovered Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s new private jet and has begun tracking it, Business Insider is reporting.

The teenager, who has also shared a picture of the jet on Twitter, has tracked Zuckerberg in the past as well. In February, Sweeney began tracking and sharing updates on Zuckerberg’s private jet on a @ZuccJet Twitter account.

In April, however, Sweeney found out that the aircraft was no longer being used by Zuckerberg. He has since been able to draw a correlation between the latest jet’s travel history and Zuckerberg’s trips.

In Meta’s latest SEC filing, the company mentioned chartering a new aircraft for Zuckerberg. The jet is owned by the Facebook CEO and operated by an independent charter company, according to the SEC filing.

In its filing, Meta said Zuckerberg’s security team has identified several threats to the Facebook founder.

“We believe that Mr. Zuckerberg’s role puts him in a unique position: he is synonymous with Meta and, as a result, negative sentiment regarding our company is directly associated with, and often transferred to, Mr. Zuckerberg,” the filing said.

Earlier this year, Musk expressed concern over the account Sweeney created to track his personal travel. The Tesla CEO also offered the teen $5,000 to take down the @ElonJet Twitter account, but Sweeney rejected the offer.

So Musk offered Sweeney $5,000 to take down his jet tracking Twitter account? What about free speech? Oh, right! Free speech also has a price tag and silence can be bought if you don’t like what that free speech is saying.

Asking someone to choose to moderate their own speech and even offering to compensate them for it, doesn’t violate anyone’s free speech or go against the principles of free speech.

It’s kind of weird to pretend not to understand that. Shows a weakness in one’s position.

There are many ways to stifle free speech. It’s naive to think that only repressive methods like banning, cancelation, legal action or threats are at work. Paying for someone’s silence is very popular among rich and powerful because it’s cleaner and looks less objectionable than overtly trampling over someone’s rights. Whether it’s stick or a carrot, when it’s coming from someone more powerful than yourself, your silence is coerced.
