Last month sources told iPhone in Canada MBNA Canada was aiming for a mid-2017 Apple Pay launch, with the company’s social media teams to announce the new projected timeline.
Fast forward one month later, and it looks like our source was indeed correct. MBNA Canada has been notifying customers on Twitter they are “working to bring Apple Pay to customers by mid-2017.”

MBNA Canada’s credit card portfolio is currently run by TD Canada, which the latter acquired in 2011. TD Canada launched Apple Pay support this summer, so many believed MBNA would follow suit shortly.
MBNA Canada has 64 various themed MasterCards available to customers online.
We can’t wait for Apple Pay support to come to MBNA Canada. It’ll complete the full Apple Pay transition for our entire wallet (to go with Amex and Visa).
