Sonos says “proceeds from the collaboration will be given to Peace Sisters and Little Kids Rock in the name of the Adam Yauch Foundation, along with a sizeable product donation.”

“It’s no coincidence that the first song ever played out loud on a Sonos was ‘No Sleep till Brooklyn’. Beastie Boys are a revered and inspirational force in music, with a legacy we are incredibly grateful to support through this exclusive collaboration, celebrating the work and philosophies we respect enormously,” said Brian Beck, Sonos Global Head of Music, in an issued statement.

Sonos told iPhone in Canada the limited edition speaker will be available through its U.S. online retail channel, flagship store in New York City and select retailers worldwide, but at this point nothing in Canada, so if you’re looking for this speaker, it’s time to call up an ‘Amerifriend’. Die-hard fans will most likely find a way to acquire this speaker, despite being sold only in the U.S. market.

This new limited edition speaker will debut during the Beastie Boys Book: Live & Direct tour, which launches in New York City on Monday, October 29. Shows will take place in Brooklyn, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and London, UK.

Each night of the tour will feature readings and conversations with the band, plus a new Beastie Boys exhibit, while fans will be able to enter to win a special signed version of the Play:5 Beastie Boys Edition speaker.
