Uber Calgary Relaunches Today at 2PM, Says “Saddle Up” and “Get Riding”

Back in October, Calgary councillor Evan Wooley teased Uber could relaunch in the city possibly by the holidays, and now that appears to be the case.

The company has posted today Uber will launch today, saying “Calgary, we’re back! Just in time for the holidays, Calgarians can once again enjoy the reliability and convenience of uberX as of 2pm today!”

Uber expects it to be busy and says if you’re having trouble with the app not loading, just refresh the app after a few minutes and request again.

On November 28, city council amended the city’s existing vehicle-for-hire bylaws to allow ridesharing services within the city, much to the protest of taxi drivers.

Uber concluded by saying “Thank you to all of the driver-partners, riders, and community friends for your patience and support throughout our journey back to town. We couldn’t be more thrilled to have the opportunity to serve Calgarians once again.”

The company also said “Now saddle up and let’s get riding.”

Calgary weather is really cold right now, with windchill making it as cold as -24 Celsius today, so this couldn’t come at a better time.

Thanks Jason
