Xbox Cloud Gaming Expands to iPhone, iPad, Windows 10 PC via Web Browser

Microsoft has announced on Monday afternoon its Xbox Cloud Gaming service is now available to all Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members with an Apple iPhone, iPad and Windows 10 PC via the web browser across 22 countries, including Canada. Back in April, the service ran a limited beta but that has since expanded.

“If you’re a member or want to become a member, simply go to xbox.com/play on Microsoft Edge, Chrome, or Safari on your PC or mobile device to start playing hundreds of games from the Xbox Game Pass library,” explained the company.

Also, Microsoft says Xbox Cloud Gaming is “now powered by custom Xbox Series X hardware.”

“We’ve been upgrading Microsoft datacenters around the globe with the fastest, most powerful Xbox hardware to give you faster load times, improved frame rates, and an experience of a new generation of gaming,” said Catherine Gluckstein, Vice President & Head of Product, Xbox Cloud Gaming.

Gluckstein added, “Today about one-in-six players who play from the cloud are exclusively using custom touch controls that are enabled for more than 50 games,” detailing how gamers are expanding their play on the cloud with Xbox Cloud Gaming.

Microsoft says for Apple iPhone and iPad users, they will require iOS 14.4 or later, while a 5GHz Wi-Fi connection is recommended, along with a 10 Mbps or higher internet connection for iPhone, and 20 Mbps or higher for iPad.
