SwitchEasy BONDS™ Case For iPhone 5 [Review]

1

Adding to its tally of durable and stylish iPhone 5 cases, SwitchEasy has recently introduced Bonds™, a shock-absorbing TPU case bonded with a metal clip for superior grip and protection. We go hands on with the new case right after the jump!

SwitchEasy Bonds™ ($29.99) is available in Bondage black, Shadow black, Snow white, Grenade green and Furple purple colours. Like always, the company ships its case in a decent packaging, loaded with all sorts of goodies such as the front screen protectors (2x), a back protector, lightning connector protectors (2x), headphone jack protectors (2x), a microfiber wipe and a squeegee for screen guard application.

Built with high quality flexible TPU material, the case has a silky smooth finish that feels pretty good in your hands. I’ve noticed that the material seems to attract much less lint as compared to majority of other TPU cases. On top of that goes a crisscross metallic frame, that matches the base colour but in a high-gloss finish. You can easily remove the frame and replace it with the frame of a different coloured Bonds™ case.

The TPU case covers all the buttons by raised rubber which offers decent tactility, with volume buttons having an x-shape to match the metallic frame’s cross pattern. For better protection, speaker and microphone are also covered by rubber with small dots to let the sound through. But the thing that makes the Bonds™ case a real winner for me is its very thin profile, despite a protective lip around the screen to prevent against drop damage. In fact, it is the slimmest TPU case I’ve seen to date.

Overall, SwitchEasy Bonds™ is a welcome addition to the growing list of TPU cases. It boasts a a good balance between looks and protection, while maintaining the iPhone 5’s sleek, slim profile. Recommended!
