Tesla Model 3 Leads Plug-In Electric Car Sales in Canada

According to a report by the EV Sales Blog, nearly 3,000 plug-in electric cars were registered during the month of November in Canada, which marks an impressive 53% gain year-over-year and just over 2% market share.

The source estimates that Tesla Model 3 noted about 600 sales in November, marking its third month of consecutive Best Selling wins.

At the same time, Model 3 leads the YTD ranking by a sizeable margin with over 6.000 units, shattering the previous yearly record held by Chevy Volt. The vehicle is also on track to win Tesla the second Models trophy, with the first won by the Model S back in 2015.

Looking at the rankings, it appears that the #2 Nissan Leaf and the #3 Mitsu Outlander PHEV have also broken last year yearly record, with the #4 Volt also on track to beat its own personal best.

The ranking remained stable this month, with only two changes, the Tesla Model S climbed one spot to #12, while the Smart Fortwo ED was also up one position, to #19.

Regarding the manufacturer’s podium, Tesla (22%) is head and shoulders above the competition, while the 2017 winner Chevrolet (16%) is now relegated to Second Place, with Nissan (13%) and Mitsubishi (12%) running for Third Place.

Below the Top 20, the Jaguar i-Pace had its first full month of deliveries with roughly 20 units registered during November.
