The Manulife Vitality program in Canada now offers Apple Watch as part of its Active Rewards, which aims to motivate Canadians who have purchased Manulife Vitality program linked life insurance to stay active.
The program will allow Vitality points to be applied towards an Apple Watch Series 1, plus the latest Apple Watch Series 3 models (GPS and cellular versions), “when they meet physical activity targets through their insurance contract.”
The Manulife Vitality program launched in 2016, which allows members to save on premiums and earn rewards by getting more active in their lives.
“By growing our Manulife Vitality program and offering it to new and existing members, we are continuing our promise of helping Canadians to live a long, healthy, active and fulfilled life,” said Michael Doughty, President and Chief Executive Officer, Manulife Canada, in an issued statement to iPhone in Canada. “By offering Apple Watch, we are helping Canadians be active and live healthier today, while aiming to protect their financial future.”
Vitality Group in the U.S. says their Apple Watch implementation has seen members increase active days per week by 40 per cent, especially from the most at-risk populations.
Manulife’s U.S. division, John Hancock, today also announced the expansion of the Vitality program, now available to new and existing John Hancock Vitality life insurance policyholders.
