Marware C.E.O. Glide iPhone 3G Review

With each new iPhone/iPhone 3G user in Canada, the quest for accessories can be a never-ending journey. Some people love their silicone cases, some like their hard cases, others love their leather cases, unique types love their art-inspired skins, and some like their invisibleSHIELD-type cases. What it boils down to is what YOU want. You need to do the research and make your own decision. Be sure to check out our accessory reviews if you haven’t already.

Introducing the Marware C.E.O.Glide: Smooth Sailing for your iPhone 3G

Today we’re going to check out the Marware C.E.O. Glide iPhone 3G review. In the past we’ve reviewed their Sportgrip and C.E.O. Leather cases. Both cases were of excellent quality and it can be said that Marware makes some pretty high quality products. The C.E.O. Glide is one of Marware’s slimmest-profile leather sleeves. One of the major problems with leather pouches is that it’s a pain in the arse to remove your iPhone, especially if you have the invisibleSHIELD installed, or any other protective film.

However, the C.E.O. Glide solves this problem as there is a built-in, recessed pull tab for easy retrieval of your “Jesus-phone”! You just pull the tab and your iPhone will glide out easily and quickly. I tested it with my iPhone 3G (with the invisibleSHIELD) installed and the phone came out flawlessly. No more wasted minutes of pure frustration trying to jimmy your iPhone out of its protective leather sleeve! Here’s how the slide process works–just imagine these three images animated:

The textured leather exterior along with the microfiber interior will keep protecting your iPhone 3G until you lose the case or the phone. Also, there is a slim Velcro enclosure to make sure your iPhone doesn’t slide out. A protective film and clear microfiber is included as well! It’s always nice when manufacturers include the little things with your purchase!

Anyways, check out the following gallery and check out Marware’s C.E.O. Glide for yourself!

Selling for a retail price of $24.99, the Marware C.E.O. Glide is a pretty decent leather pouch with a very unique way of removing your iPhone 3G. If you’re tired of battling with getting your iPhone 3G in and out of a leather pouch, the C.E.O. Glide just might be the solution you’ve been looking for!

    I just put an InvisibleSHIELD on mine. I love it even though I messed up a little bit on the camera part on the back lol [I think there’s dirt under it now]. Anywho, I find it’s one of the best things you can get for your iPhone because it’s invisible and stops scratches. If you wanted to change the color, you can still get something like a hard/silicone/leather case. Only thing is that some of those actually damage the phone with time, so this invisibleSHIELD is actually a ‘case’ which protects from other cases 😛 I loves it.

    Jamie’s right. This site has gotten horrible. I appreciate all the good info that’s been provided in the past, but now the good info is few & far between and the annoying-looking ads are on the rise. And what’s with calling the iPhone the ‘Jesus-phone’ all the time? It’s not clever at all, and downright offensive to a lot of people. This blog’s really gone down the toilet.

    Let me know when you guys start up your own iPhone blog(s), and I’ll be sure to check them out, k? Seriously! I’m always open to new and improved information, and so far, this is the best site I’ve seen in Canada (can you point me to another??). There are a couple US based sites I read as well, but they are also full of annoying looking ads (guess they need to pay for the time they put into their sites??) Actually, there is one site where the guy and his wife work on their site full time (the ads give them an income, and I think they work part-time). Maybe you guys can do better and come up with more exciting content? I certainly hope so 🙂 I think it’s as simple as quitting your jobs (or quitting school??) and devoting yourselves full time to come up with FRESH material DAILY to post on your site. Should be interesting to see what you guys come up with… I can’t wait!!! 😀

    Why not blog about something that matters, like all the Jailbrocken apps out there. Why not make an article about the new dtunes app on cydia that lets you download music on the phone through seeqpod and video’s from
    Blip, break, dailymotion, filecabinet, google, ifilm, livevideo, metacafe, myspace, pornotube, revver, veoh, xtube, youporn, and youtube. Then play them back right from within the app. Just tired of reviews on crappy cases after this site pushed invisible shield so hard and personally I don’t know one person who uses a case

    @2hot4u,
    While we try to post about those things on the blog, those topics are more for the forums. Please check them out and post any and all questions or even reviews there.

    @mavuric,
    No one is making you stay here. Most of the people here, such as yourself, have found this site to be a very good tool. However, now that you have become more familiar with iPhone, you do not need this site anyone. You just take take take. Also, as with most the case reviews, we tend to give the case away. If you do NOT like getting free stuff, then maybe we will just have to stop giving cases away!
    NOT! 😉

    Let me introduce myself… my name is Tim, and I use a case for my iPhone 3G 🙂
    My case of choice is the OtterBox Defender series. Very nice, professional looking case (kind of makes me feel like Jack Bauer!!). Protects the phone without limiting access. Protects my 3G and my 2G phones! I’ve bought and given away a dozen of these cases (to friends & family). Yes, that’s OtterBox (www.otterbox.com… see the “annoying looking” ad above right on this page).
    There, now you know at least ONE person who uses a case!

    Back on topic: Marware CEO Glide case.
    My wife has this case and she likes it alot. Positives: great slim design & look, fantastic to slide out the phone, soft interior to baby phone, strong enough exterior to protect phone. Only drawback is that because there are no holes in the bottom, it muffles the speakers. When she has the phone in the case in her purse she misses a lot of calls. Best solution is to put the phone into the case upside down, but it only works if you do not need headphone access. Probably ok though, since if you need headphone access, you don’t need to hear the external speakers.

    I think this site just needs a slight redesign. Splitting the info up between iPhone 3G and the original would be good for us other users who don’t have 3Gs. We’d love to hear more about jailbroken apps and such and how to do such and such.

    This feed is pretty sweet. As a new comer to iPhones, I found that it was very helpful. I do share a bit of concern about the fact that us first Gen’ers might be left behind a bit, but really, I can understand why. The 3G is the new kid on the block so everything that is “really” worth writing about, is obviously going to be 3G oriented. Perhaps it isn’t possible for there to be many more reviews of things (accessories) for first gen, but if there ARE some interesting new Cydia/Installer/store apps or updates for us “classics” it would be cool to hear about them! But great job all the same iPhonefan, I enjoy reading your posts, and they often give me some fodder for consideration, because some of those companies I might not know about are still offering cases, etc. for first gens. So thank you!

    Anyway, back to the important part of this particular discussion. I have heard that people with this style of case have had difficulty removing their phone in time to answer calls and things, and I think that the addition of a proper aid to get the phone out is probably long over-due. It’s too bad the company doesn’t offer a replacement for a cheap price to those who would be interested in swapping cases, to take advantage of the update.

    Cheers!

I like to post about things I would be interested in reading about and it’s worked out so far. As for jailbroken apps and such, there are way too many to review but of course the really impressive ones you’ll see on the blog (EG QIK).

    Sweet, thanks! Again though, props on the site! I definitely understand where you’re coming from. I would be doin’ exactly the same thing in your position. I don’t think anyone can ask for anymore really. If I had the time, I’d be interested in contributing myself, except that summer is now over, and alas, school takes up much time!
