Facebook Expands Like Button with “Reactions” [u]

Facebook has announced today that it is expanding its Like button with “Reactions”, following user input requesting more ways to interact with what is happening in their News Feed. Reactions is an extension of the Like button and aims to give Facebook users more ways to share their reaction to a post in an instant.

Instead of hitting (or deciding not to hit) the Like button, now users can hold down the Like button on their mobile devices or hover over it on desktop to see the reaction options and choose either Like, Love, Haha, Wow, Sad, or Angry.

The new feature has been in testing in a few markets since last year, and so far the reaction has been positive, so this is why Facebook is making this feature available to everyone who uses the social media platform across the globe.

This a big change compared to the limited Like button, and to decide on the reactions they would add, Facebook conducted global research and surveys, looked at how users comment on posts, and combined it with the top stickers and emojis used.
