With the new Postmedia iOS apps, Canadians can now access local, national, international and entertainment news right from their iPads, iPhones and iPod touches. Postmedia Network, the parent company of Postmedia News, also announced the launch of a new Dose.ca app for the iPhone and iPod touch. These apps will bring users the latest in entertainment and movie news as well as celebrity gossip. The apps can now be downloaded from the Canadian App Store.

According to The Vancouver Sun:

Readers can use the apps to see newspapers including the Vancouver Sun, Vancouver Province, Calgary Herald, Edmonton Journal, Regina Leader-Post, Saskatoon StarPhoenix, Ottawa Citizen, Windsor Star and Montreal Gazette on the Apple devices anywhere, anytime.

On Monday, the company will announce major updates to its apps for nine Canadian newspapers, making them accessible on the iPhone or iPod touch.

Users will also be able to browse photo galleries that allow readers to choose what they want to view, read news-making headlines in their neighbourhoods, check weather or catch up on sports highlights and find related stories quickly and easily.

Postmedia Network Inc. is currently the largest publisher by circulation of paid English-language daily newspapers in Canada, representing some of the country’s oldest and best known media brands.
