Apple Reveals App Store Search Results to Include More Ads in 2026

Apple has laid out its plans to introduce more ads within the App Store in search results new year. As a bid “to increase opportunity” within search, Apple will integrate more ads into the search results seen by users.
The Cupertino company recently updated their Ads website. As first reported on by MacRumors, additional ads will appear as part of search queries. In 2026, more ads will appear at the top of search results as well as further down the page. The company notes that for existing and ongoing campaigns, nothing will need to be changed in order to be featured.
“Search is the way most people find and download apps on the App Store, with nearly 65 percent of downloads happening directly after a search,” the company says. “To help give advertisers more opportunities to drive downloads from search results, Apple Ads will introduce additional ads across search queries.”
Within the App Store, ads will remain in the same format with default or custom product page options. Advertisers can also include deep links as an optional inclusion. As part of this change, advertisers and developers won’t be charged any more or see an impact on their billing. The company continues to operate on a cost-per-tap model. With this, developers only pay Apple when a user taps or interacts with an ad.
Apple confirms that the new format for App Store ads will appear on devices running iOS 26.2 or later. The rollout will begin in early 2026. However, no official date has been set by the company.
