Square’s Mobile Card Reader Now Available in Canada at These Retailers [Update]

Square launched their mobile payments in Canada this October, their first expansion market outside of the USA. Now the company has notified us their mobile card reader is now available at retailers in Canada such as Apple, Best Buy and Future Shop.

With Square, it allows you to accept credit cards anywhere as the card reader plugs into mobile device, in conjunction with the Square Register app. The transaction rate is 2.75% per swipe with no hidden fees or contracts. Square tells us there are now 3 million individuals and businesses using their service.
