TELUS Launches Retina iPad mini Sales, Starting at $69 on a 2-Year Term

Share:

TELUS is the first Canadian carrier to launch cellular Retina iPad mini sales. Currently, 16GB and 32GB models are available online and in-store. The company is offering these on 2-year terms with their Easy Tablet program, which allows customers to pay off their device balance monthly over one or two year terms.

For example, a 16GB cellular Retina iPad mini has the following fine print details:

Customers must pay back the balance of the tablet over a 12 or 24 month period via monthly payments equal to $20/month. The 16GB mini on a two year term is $18.70. Once the purchase price has been paid, the service will continue on a month-to-month basis without the monthly charge for the tablet.

As for iPad data plans, here’s what’s available with their Flex Data Plan for Tablets:

  • 10MB for $5
  • Up to 100MB for $10
  • Up to 1GB for $20
  • Up to 3GB for $35
  • Up to 5GB for $50
  • Data overages: $0.05/MB
  • US Roaming data rate: $5/MB

The up front prices are the same from Apple.ca, starting at $549. Online, it notes there is limited stock available and free delivery will take 6-8 weeks, which is quite a long time, but then again there isn’t a lot of Retina iPad mini stock out there.

Let us know if you’re going to jump on any of these cellular Retina iPad minis from TELUS.

Canadians really need to stop relying on subsidy to get the latest and greatest device. It is like your cable company does not provide you to a loan to get your LED TV!

Good point. If they can give you a $650 HDTV for free when you sign for 2 years of cable programming. ???? ????
