Hyper’s 6-Port USB-C Hub for 2018 iPad Pro Looks Crazy When Attached

Earlier today, the first media reviews of the 2018 iPad Pro were published. Most reviewers loved the speed and build quality of the iPad Pro, but said it still fell short of being a full-fledged laptop replacement.

With this year, Apple eliminated its Lightning port in favour of USB-C. This opens up new doors as to what you can now attach to your iPad Pro, such as a USB-C hub.

Today, Hyper revealed their HyperDrive for iPad Pro, coming next month. It includes 6 ports, bringing 4K HDMI, a 3.5mm audio jack, SD, micro SD, USB-A 3.0 and USB-C Power Delivery to your iPad Pro. Sadly, external hard drives (including USB sticks) won’t work with iPad Pro and USB-C.

When attached to your iPad Pro on the side and the USB-C hub filled to the max with cords and SD cards, it does look pretty odd on the side of the tablet:

The USB-C hub resembles what ‘dongle life’ looks like on Apple’s USB-C powered MacBooks, and looks even sillier on the iPad Pro. What do you think?

The HyperDrive will retail for $99.99 USD in December 2018, but those who enter their email on the Hyper website can get 50% off.
