BC Snowboarders Credit iPhone In Rescue

This week, CBC has a new story about the iPhone and the lives of two BC snowboarders.

A pair of snowboarders were rescued off of Cypress Mountain and are crediting an iPhone with saving their lives. The pair used an iPhone to both call for help and to provide their exact location to rescue teams via a GPS app.

While users should be wary when relying on GPS apps, as the data can be inaccurate, this is one story where it saved lives.

Check out the video at CBC (flash only).
