Two weeks ago, Telus sued Rogers for apparently misleading advertisements claiming that Rogers is “Canada’s fastest network”. Now, Rogers has filed a suit against Bell Canada for misleading advertisements claiming that Bell has Canada’s “largest, fastest, and most reliable network”.

Rogers is pointing out that the currently operating Bell CDMA network has approximately 6.7 million customers on it, but the new HSPA+ network has “virtually no customers” and that Bell “could not have conducted enough testing with traffic to validate any claims of reliability”.

Apparently, Rogers has a lot of evidence to support its claims against Bell citing various public opinion polls that claim results indicating that in order to have a reliable network, people look for a carrier that has, over time, been able to deliver superior network service while hosting a large number of clients.

In a way, you could say that is correct as people are usually more likely to use what is familiar and proven, over what is new and requires change, but there are multiple ways to look at it.

In any case, this seems like the season to file a suit against people, so if your friend/family member/neighbor is getting on your nerves this holiday, make sure to sue them!
