Rogers has won the ‘Best in Test’ wireless benchmark award from independent testing firm umlaut for the eighth consecutive year, leading the pack in voice, data, and overall network reliability in Canada.

The latest audit ranked Rogers at the top with an overall score of 898 out of 1,000. Bell followed in second place with 865, while Telus trailed with a score of 847. In the individual categories, Rogers secured 250 out of 270 for voice performance and 427 out of 480 for data. Bell notched 236 for voice and 403 for data, while Telus scored 210 for voice and 390 for data.

Mark Kennedy, Chief Technology Officer at Rogers, stated that the award highlights the carrier’s focus on delivering a reliable 5G+ network and expanding coverage through its satellite partnerships.

When looking strictly at network reliability, Rogers scored 548 out of 600. Bell and Telus placed behind the leader with scores of 521 and 511, respectively.

The story shifts slightly when looking at crowdsourced metrics that measure real-world, daily performance. In those metrics, Telus scored 227 and Bell hit 226 out of 250, both managing to edge past Rogers’ score of 221. The audit noted that Bell and Telus pulled ahead in this specific area due to slightly wider broadband coverage reach and faster active download speeds during regular daily usage.
