Cydia Package To Convert iOS 6.1 Tethered Jailbreak To Untethered
The much awaited iOS 6.x jailbreak tool evasi0n was finally released earlier today for OS X, Windows and Linux platforms, allowing untethered jailbreak on iOS 6.0, iOS 6.0.1, iOS 6.0.2, and iOS 6.1 for all iOS devices including the iPhone 5, iPad mini and the New iPad. However, owners of iPhone 4 or iPod touch 4G who are already jailbroken tethered on iOS 6.1, will soon be able to convert their tethered jailbreak to untethered using a Cydia package, said @MuscleNerd in a tweet earlier today (via iDB).
Before #evasi0n reaches 100%, those with iPhone4 and ipt4g tethered 6.1 JB should now restore to stock 6.1 (but NOT if you use ultrasn0w!)

There will also be a debian though. It’s less tested than the app but will save you from having to re-install your Cydia tweaks.

Though it is always best to jailbreak your iPhone 4 / iPod touch 4G using evasi0n after a fresh iOS 6.1 install. Also, the debian package WILL NOT work for those who are using ultrasn0w unlock on their iPhone 4.
We’ll soon have a step-by-step tutorial up on our website on how to jailbreak your iOS 6 device untethered using evasi0n. Stay tuned!
