Apple Extends USB-C Dongle Discounts to March 31, 2017

In early November, Apple extended a gesture of goodwill to new MacBook Pro users, by discounting USB-C dongles by 25 per cent, which also applied to LG UltraFine 4K and 5K displays (the latter launched sales this morning).

Apple said at the time:

“We recognize that many users, especially pros, rely on legacy connectors to get work done today and they face a transition. We want to help them move to the latest technology and peripherals, as well as accelerate the growth of this new ecosystem. Through the end of the year, we are reducing prices on all USB-C and Thunderbolt 3 peripherals we sell, as well as the prices on Apple’s USB-C adapters and cables.”

As detailed in the UltraFine 5K post, the discount date has been extended by Apple to March 31, 2017, adding an additional 90 days to the previous deadline of New Year’s Eve.

If one would need to connect a 2016 Macbook Pro ( with thunderbolt 3 ) to a mid 2011 iMac, what type of câble I would need to display the screen of my MBP on the iMac ?
