2017 Amazon Prime Day Shatters Company Records, Most Popular Item Sold in Canada Revealed

2017 Amazon Prime Day has come and gone, and the online retailers has announced this year’s event broke records, surpassing both Black Friday and Cyber Monday, while also seeing growth of 60 per cent compared to last year.

Amazon Canada issued a statement to iPhone in Canada to note this year’s event was the biggest day on Amazon.ca, with the top selling item here was the Instant Pot Duo 80 7-in-1 Multi-Use Programmable Pressure Cooker, created in Ottawa.

Other top selling items in Canada: Kindle Paperwhite, AmazonBasics Rechargeable Batteries and the Xbox One S 500GB Console.

Global highlights saw a record number of Prime shoppers across 13 countries, with over 3.5 million toys purchased. “Tens of millions” of customers used the Amazon app on Prime Day, with sales more than doubling on mobile compared to last year.

Small businesses also provided feedback, noting Prime Day saw huge success for sales.
