The mobile game Clash of Clans is the top-grossing iPhone app and pulls in a whopping $1.56 million in revenue per day. The key to the app’s success lies within how the company has perfected the “freemium” model.

The initial download of the app is free, however, users have the options to purchase certain goods within the application. The entire game can be played without making a single in-app purchase.

Clash of Clans is a game that lets users collect resources that enables them to build defensive structures and troops. The troops can be used to attack other players’ bases in order to gain more resources.

Clash of Clans for iOS is available as a free download from the App Store. The game requires any device running iOS 5.1.1 or later and has been optimized for the iPhone 5, 6, and 6 Plus. The game also contains in-app purchases which range between $4.99 and $119.99.
