FCC Filing Reveals Unreleased Apple TV-like Product with Bluetooth and NFC
French site Consomac has spotted an update of the US Federal Communication Commission’s database, which shows an unreleased Apple product with case dimensions similar to the Apple TV 4.
The details of the unreleased product are scarce, but first off the A1844 model number shown on the case is not currently in use by the iPhone maker. As you can see from the image inserted below, the electrical rating of the product is between 5.5 and 13.2 volts, and the current drawn by the device is 100 mA, with a peak of 700 mA.

This compares to the fourth-generation Apple TV’s power supply rated at 12 V at a peak current of 920 mA. The filing with the FCC includes various documents, including an NFC test report, which are not now accessible.
AppleInsider says the test results are for both Bluetooth and NFC. The FCC didn’t perform Wi-Fi tests on the device, which could signal that the device either uses an older, tested design, or that it has no Wi-Fi functionality.
Bloomberg says Apple is developing an Amazon Echo-like smart-home device based on Siri. The development started more than two years ago and just like Echo, the Apple product is designed to control appliances, locks, lights and curtains via voice activation, according to people familiar with the matter.

Hey Siri… do my laundry! LOL.
Lol she might flood the house
Right, then when I try and correct her she’ll give me a sassy response.
Might just be a device that they decided was redundant next to an AppleTV + iPhone.
