Funny or Die to Release Steve Jobs Biopic “iSteve” on April 15th

The New York Times reports Funny or Die is set to release their own Steve Jobs movie titled “iSteve”, starring Justin Long (the “I’m a Mac” guy) as the late Apple CEO:

But it turns out there was also a joker in the deck nobody knew about: Funny or Die, the comedy Web site, said over the weekend that it had made its own Jobs movie — “iSteve” — and planned to unveil it online on April 15. A biopic poking fun at biopics, “iSteve” stars Justin Long (“New Girl,” “DodgeBall: A True Underdog Story”) in the title role.

The movie is a different direction compared to a typical Funny or Die production, which is normally based on shorter clips. The movie is set to be 60-75 minutes long and will poke fun at Jobs, which producer Allison Hord says “even the harshest fanboy critics will be able to laugh with us.” The movie itself is being written and directed by Ryan Perez, who says the movie will be an overview of Jobs’ life:

“In true Internet fashion, it’s not based on very thorough research — essentially a cursory look at the Steve Jobs Wikipedia page,” said Ryan Perez, who wrote and directed “iSteve.” “It’s very silly. But it looks at his whole life.”

This looks to be an awesome production and we should be in for a good laugh. The movie will be released online on April 15th.

With the recent delay of Ashton Kutcher’s Steve Jobs biopic “Jobs”, this movie should fill the void while fans wait, along with Aaron Sorkin’s upcoming biopic as well.
