iOS Includes Support to Show Mac App Previews in App Store

Have you ever tapped a Mac App Store link while browsing in Safari on your iPad and gotten a useless page that tells you the app is only available on the Mac?

If you click on a Mac App Store link in iOS 11, it will now take you to an actual App Store entry for that app. From this page, users will be able to see details about the app and even screenshots.

The only thing that users will not be able to do from the page is download the app.

Well, that’s an improvement – certainly if you’re just seeking out more detailed info on an app. While I get why you can’t download an app (while on iOS), I can’t tell if you are able to put it in a ‘Wish List’, if you decide you like the app. This would at least enable you to keep the reference to it – and your interest in it – but be able to move on while on iOS.

If I’m browsing the Playstation Store on my iPhone and see a game I want, not only can I chose to buy it, I can tell it to download directly to my Playstation so it’s ready and waiting when I get home. I would love to see this functionality from Apple. Using iCloud it should be even easier than however Sony did it.
