First Calgary Financial Becomes First Canadian Credit Union to Go All Mobile

Update: Looks like Desjardins had an iPhone app out long ago (thanks Leo). FCF is the first to launch apps for all mobile platforms that include iOS, Blackberry, and Android.

We’ve seen the plethora of major banks launch iPhone banking apps, but now First Calgary Financial has become the first Canadian credit union to go mobile with apps for the iPhone, iPad, Android, and Blackberry. Their new app has hit the App Store and will enable members to get balances, transfer funds, pay bills, send money, review transactions, find ATMs and more.

Here’s the iTunes description:

First Calgary Financial mobile banking is a quick, easy and secure way to access and manage your accounts – anytime, anywhere!

Use this mobile banking app to access First Calgary’s smartphone-optimized banking site to:
•Get real-time account balances
• Transfer funds between accounts
• Send Interac® e-transfers
• Pay bills
• Review account transactions
•ATM locator tool for both FCF’s local and the Canadian Credit Union network

FGF notes their iPhone app has the same security as their PC, text and telephone banking services and covered by their Online Banking 100% Security Guarantee.

This app looks like a winner, and will most likely get some other Canadian credit unions to go mobile as well. If you’re a FGF member, let us know how you like this app.
