Looks like the Dev Team has been working very hard lately. Low and behold, updates to the Pwnage Tool and QuickPwn were released yesterday! I would have posted it earlier but I was away for the day and got in late. So here is the info you’ve been waiting for…
Pwnage Tool 2.0.3 Ready for Download
The Pwnage Tool will let you create a custom firmware to install on your iPhone. This custom firmware will jailbreak/activate your iPhone 2G/3G. You can download the Pwnage Tool 2.0.3 here. Here is what the Dev Team had to say about the Pwnage Tool update:
This version provides support for iPhone/iPod firmware 2.0.2 5C1, it has an updated Installer.app beta (b6) and contains a new .de localization for our large amount of German friends. The application SHOULD ONLY be downloaded as a .tbz file from our servers and should NOT be decompressed using the application called “the unarchiver” (this breaks permissions within PwnageTool) just use the standard OS X built in ‘Archive Utility’ to decompress. The SHA1 sum of PwnageTool_2.0.3.tbz is 91e670e0c623cd43f5e8cfbfaae6c23d98d8f31b
QuickPwn GUI Updated!
QuickPwn will allow you to jailbreak your 2.0/2.0.1/2.0.2 iPhone very easily, without needing to do a restore or custom firmware installation. Watch my full video tutorial here if you haven’t seen it already. Anyways, the Dev Team released a “150” beta update to QuickPwn. Updates include a YouTube fix and support for BootNeuter for iPhone 2G phones.

Just a note, that QuickPwn currently doesn’t work on 64-bit versions of Vista. They say the next release will fix it…
and another one to say that the pwnage tool 2.0.3 update is under revision….a password permissions problem. (if you have the problem, chmod 0777 var/keychains should fix it – you can pm me on the forum for further explanations) . Dev team is currently testing the revision.

So I take it no one has tried this on their 2G iPhone yet??
Of course, I JUST JB my phone last night with 1.20 I guess there is no harm in running 1.50 to get the BootNeuter done on it.

I tried and it’s works with my brand new iphone 3G first time!! (jailbroken) after watching your video, “how to jailbreak iphone 3g 2.2 with Quickpawn” My hands was trembling all over!You know what? It was so easy!!I will do it again, no problems!Thank you a million times.I am having so much fun with Cydia especially experimenting with different apps!And for those who hesitate, do it, you won’t regret it.Just follow the video Tutorial.
