Leaked Pictures of iPhone 4G: Here We Go Again

Every time there the smell of a product line update in the air, leaked images of the “next” Apple product pops online. There are rumors the next generation iPhone could be released this June. When the rumor mill starts pumping, the pictures start flowing.

Yesterday, iPod Observer and MacRumors posted pictures of the casing of the next generation iPhone. Take a look for yourself and tell me what you think:

Apple may be preparing to roll out an updated version of its 16GB iPhone 3G. An image showing a new case back seems to back up rumors that an iPhone update is on the way thanks to its model number, A1303, which previously hasn’t appeared on any iPhone model

Honestly, I don’t know how accurate these photos are but chances are they are fake. I think it’s way too early to even consider leaked pictures of the next iPhone, until we find out more detailed specifications on what the next version will entail. I’m hoping for a front facing camera for iChat, as that would just be game-changing, what Apple is known for.

Oh, and just an update on my 6GB data plan (which might come in handy for iChat if it comes in the future). Last month I used 629MB, which is the most I’ve ever used in a month so far. How much have you used lately?

[MacRumors, iPod Observer]

the photos look real, but you never know these days, anything is easily faked.

most I’ve used in a month is somewhere between 600 – 700 MB. but that’s only by turning off WiFi when at home, just to see how much data I might use without trying too hard (e.g. no tethering)

I’m always streaming radio, I don’t know if that’s cheating, so I’m usually between 4.5 -> 5.5 GB/ month!!

I hope they don’t come out with new hardware for a while. I would like them to work on features rather than hardware, that would only cost me more $!!

I don’t beleive I’ve ever been over 100Meg. Always on wifi.

If these pictures are real, I can already see one fail: no camera flash!

I am also on the 6gb plan, but probably only use about 500kb, on average.

I switched to the 500mb package Rogers that had available for a bit. 10% discount for the first year ($20.00). Phone plan is 250anytime unlimited evenings and weekends @6pm for $10.00. total of $30.00 a month plus fees and I get everything but caller ID, I am very happy with this setup as I haven’t gone over 200mb yet.

P.S. what is the deal with “who called”, that has got to be the most annoying feature, can I turn it off?

I haven’t reset my phone since Nov 08 but my total recieved is 12.6 GB. The way I’m racking up the data is streaming Anderson Coopers 360 video podcast through 3G, each file is around 150 mb and I watch it every day!

Typically, I use just under 500mb, but I’m very ‘wasteful’ – downloading/updating apps on 3g instead of waiting till I get home/to a hotspot. I am thinking of upgrading to a 1gb plan, purely to be able to do some online gaming with my lappy tethered. I do some now, but it chews up bandwidth fairly fast.

If the photo’s are legit, it looks like there’s some texture there.. kind of a non slip grip thing. If that’s the case (no pun intended) that’s great. I’m more interested in the hardware.. would love to see the ability to run more than one app at a time.

(Sorry if anyone mentioned these features in the previous posts, just too lazy to read them all)

I have Izymail. It doesn’t mess up my Read/ Unread status of emails. It sycs them perfectly. Hopefully Hotmail fixes this as i’m finding Hotmail quicker (obviously) than Izymail.

4G???

get your facts straight bud… theres the iphone 1G (first generation, also called 2G because it runs on a 2G network) and then theres the 3G which is actually the 2G (second generation) which runs on the 3G network

the next iphone will be the 3rd generation and will mooooooost likely NOT run on 4G (WiMax) networks. so you cant call it 4G.

You never know. There have been rumors that Rogers is preparing a LTE network network to be ready for 2010 in Vancouver via BGR.com

alrighty… dont have too much faith in Apple tho. as we’ve seen, they care only about making money and not pleasing their customers. they hold back key features only to keep them for a later model. IMO, theres more of a chance of people coming back from the dead than the next iPhone being 4G

and the next iphone will most prolly be coming out within 2009 as its life cycle so far has been 1 year and the markers in the new FW make it seem eminent. so rogers wont have the network out by then 🙂
