TELUS to Launch HSPA+ Network On November 5
The new TELUS HSPA+ network will have speeds up of to 21Mbps, rivaling current HSPA+ provider Rogers Wireless. Rogers just last month announced the release of their HSPA+ network, but only to five cities across Canada.
On the launch of the network in November, TELUS will cover most of the Canadian population where it has service now. The company has also begun forward looking talks about its future 4G or LTE wireless technology. The new TELUS HSPA+ network will be overlaid on top of the company’s existing CDMA network.
The HSPA+ network update will bring new handsets and high-speed Internet sticks for TELUS customers. The network also introduces Canadians to new competition, as Rogers (and Fido) are currently the only providers of GSM/HSPA+ in Canada.
