Today Apple announced that the WiFi model of the much anticipated iPad will be available for sale in the USA on Saturday, April 3 2010. The WiFi + 3G model in the U.S. will also be available in late April 2010.
Furthermore, US customers can begin to preorder both the WiFi and WiFi + 3G models from Apple’s online store or reserve a WiFi model to pick up on April 3, 2010 at a US Apple retail store.
On the Canada end of business, Apple states that both the WiFi and WiFi + 3G models will be available for sale in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK in late April 2010, missing the originally stated worldwide availability of the WiFi iPad by a month.

Beginning a week from today, on March 12, US customers can pre-order both Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + 3G models from Apple’s online store (www.apple.com) or reserve a Wi-Fi model to pick up on Saturday, April 3, at an Apple retail store.
Apple also stated that the iBooks application and iBookstore will be available in the U.S. App Store on April 3, 2010 with support for other countries to follow later in 2010.

Actually, there's no way in hell I'm going to buy this highly limited piece of junk.
$500 for a pumped up iPod Touch? I don't think so. Once they go down in price and up in functionality, maybe.

I really hope Apple bombs on this one and people don't buy it. They could have easily made this device more functional, but I would surmise that the logic being employed is to be able to stagger upgrades over the course of two or three years with the intention that they entice people to buy the latest versions….even though these versions include features that should have been on board from the beginning.
