Update 1: Just had an email from a Bell source–July 23rd date mentioned again.
In their latest PR release about iPhone 4 sales, Apple once again confirmed the iPhone 4 will be launched in Canada “by the end of July”. We have received two separate emails that provide specific information to corroborate a pending July 23rd launch.
According to our tipster, with close ties to an Apple Store, here are some vague details “CS” was able to provide:
The above details are identical to what was provided regarding the iPad’s rumoured April 24th launch in Canada–until it was delayed by Apple.
Earlier today, another story popped up online with a similar date (their source was from a major carrier, not an Apple Store), but of course we have to always take these rumours with a grain of salt. We previously predicted July 23rd or July 30th, the last two Fridays of the month. Right now, the former is looking to be the best bet for the iPhone 4 launch in Canada.
All we can do now is wait. Rest assured that as we inch closer into July, the iPhone 4 launch date will soon by announced by Rogers, Bell, and Telus on the same day (they like to do things in tandem).

july 23rd, that's not bad at all. i think the white version will be available and the screen issue will be fixed at the time. but…………r they gonna fix the antennas issue by the time they're shipping the 2nd release? that's the thing really annoying me about the new iphone…..
I've never been in an iphone lineup before – assuming it opens at 7a.m, what time do you think you should show up to be able to grab a phone (not necessarily be first in line, but be relatively safe in securing your own copy)? 5a.m?
My Fido contract is renewable on that date, coincidence!?

We've never had iPhone pre-orders in Canada before. This could be the first if it happens.
I really like the theory that Apple/Rogers/etc is going to annouce this on Canada Day – wouldn't that be nice? 😉
hmm i wonder if us Canadian's will get a pre-order time a few weeks in advance and 2 days early delivery too, jusdt like our good “friends” in the USA 😛

I have a question. Am I going to be able to get an iPhone 4 at an Apple store for the reduced 3-year telus contract price. Or will I have to line up at my telus provider guys store?

If you look around you'll see that direct contact with the lower left side causes the lost signal. Using an iPhone case seems to solve that problem OR holding it with your right hand. Some say it's a matter of an OS update and I personally feel that it's a good thing it's coming later to Canada (most of the bugs can be worked out by then).
Yeah, but the problem is that most people are left handed, so they hold their phone in their left hand and use their right hand to do all the tapping, controlling the phone. Isn't this a hardware issue? So how can it be solved with an OS update, it would be great if it could however, because I read somewhere they might change the frequency or something.

if you really think about the issue, it definitely cannot be fixed by a firmware update. that's a design flaw. i really hope they will fix this before releasing in canada.

Well if you want or should I say need one on opening day then you will have to wait in line. But you can jsut call Rogers or which ever provider you choose and call and order over the phone and you get it within 3 days. At least thats what I did when I ordered my 3G.
When the 3G was released I waited in line at a Rogers store from about 5 AM. I was 6th in line and I didn't get the phone I wanted. The people in front of me ordered more than one of the 16GB Black. And all they had were white 8GB. So I was out of luck and just went to work called rogers and ordered it.
Now I think stores (this included carriers and apple) should only limit one per customer on opening day. And hopefully they have the model I want what ever the day is.
I'm currently with Robbers Wireless, but was planning on jumping ship to Fido and grabbing the iPhone 4. Do I have to go to a Fido store? Where else can I go?

Fido Store and Apple Store are your best bets bud. I suggest an Apple Store because they usually have more stock.
I am in Toronto and with Rogers. Can I wait at the Apple Store if I want one that is subsidized? I know I get the unlock one for full price but what if I don't care about unlock. Do I also reserve one at the Apple Store before I go line up?
The Apple Stores are also in malls how the heck do I get in the mall at 5:00am?

Well if you're not with Rogers, you won't go to Rogers. But, no matter who you're with, it's better to go to the Apple Store
So will Rogers have a presence there to sign you up at the Apple store or do you goto the Rogers store to get your account setup afterwards?
