BREAKING: Rogers Releases New $35 My10 Canadawide Plan

Not to be outdone by Fido or Virgin, effective tomorrow (December 10, 2010), Rogers has launched a new $35 My10 plan. The new plan is a promotion and expires on December 31, 2010.

$35 My10 Canada-wide Plan

This new plan from Rogers is available on a 3-year contract for an iPhone. With the voice plan and a minimum $25 data plan on a 3-year contract, customers receive promotional pricing on an iPhone device ($159/$269).

For reference, the plan is detailed below:

  • Price: $35.00/month
  • Minutes: 150 daytime
  • Evenings/Weekends: Unlimited Weekends; Unlimited Evenings @ 6PM (normally at 9PM)
  • Features: Unlimited My10 Canada-wide calling/messaging and unlimited Canadian messaging (text, picture, video)

Overall, this is not a bad offer coming from Rogers, especially the 6PM evenings and included My10 Canada-wide. However, there is no free Caller Display like the recent offers from Fido and Virgin.

So if you’re looking to get an iPhone with Rogers service, this is probably one of the company’s best plans right now for My10. Also note that the offer has not yet been updated on the Rogers website but it is available in-store and over the phone.

Some quick notes:

  • Offer available to new and existing customers
  • Offer available for consumer regular and business regular accounts
  • Offer available nationally
  • Customer can activate on a 3-year term only
  • Offer eligible on all device types
  • Offer expires on midnight December 31, 2010

The Fido plan is still better imo.

No mention of data attached to the account?

My current base plan is $35/mo with 500MB data, 350min, 10k messages.. there may be more I’m forgetting.
I’m paying extra for the 6pm early evening option and visual voice mail ($7/$15 accordingly)

Any company that uses a later evening start time than 6pm should have their head examined.

Yours is retentions though so you can’t compare that to the regular plans like this one.

I’m not seeing how these latest offers from Fido and Rogers are keeping up with Virgin. The basic Virgin iPhone plan is $50/month rather than $35 voice + $25 data. It includes voicemail, call display, 200 minutes, 500 MB data, and unlimited incoming text. Evenings start at 7 PM and outgoing texts are 15 cents (doesn’t bother me because I use TextFree app).

How does this compare to the 65$ 1GB plan?

Can anybody confirm if unlimited Canadian messaging is included IN ADDITION to the unlimited My10 calling/messaging? This post seems to indicate in both the summary, and the internal Rogers screenshot, that this plan includes unlimited messaging to any Canadian number, not just the chosen 10.

As I assumed, however, when I called Rogers, the rep seemed confused. I actually called a total of three times, and each rep told me that it only includes messaging to the My10 numbers. They said they did not see in their database any mention of unlimited Canadian messaging connected with this plan.

Am I misreading this post, or are the Rogers reps mistaken?

Was anyone able to get on this plan? I called this morning and the CSR couldn’t find it. They found $35 MY10 but unlimited messaging only to the MY10. This is offer is clearly MY10 unlimited “&” messaging.

It’s both. My10 and unlimited messaging.

You have the plan code. Just give Rogers that.

Thanks! That’s what I thought – but after 5 calls now to Rogers they keep insisting it’s only unlimited messaging to the My10 numbers. I’m being cautious about switching to this plan as I would have have no official confirmation from Rogers that Canadian messaging is included (neither on the phone nor on their website) in case of future billing issues.

Any suggestions?

Unfortunately, I have given them the plan code, and when they pull it up, they keep saying there’s no mention of unlimited Canadian messaging. Ooooh, Rogers!!!!

The CSR I had was saying I’d have to pay cancellation fees since I’d be renewing?
I don’t think they were taking my existing data into consideration either…might try later and see.
Also, I noticed voicemail is not included. Would have to pay extra for that?

Just phoned and got this plan.
Didn’t have any trouble, and the guy gave me name display and call display for free
It does come with unlimited Canada wide messaging

Mine is “retentions”? Are you saying I’ve had it for a while? If yes, that’s true – Nov. ’08.

Each time I inquire about a newer and possibly better plan, the reps at the counter just say I have a very good plan. I keep hoping for a better plan/price to show up, but t’s starting to look like that may not likely happen.

Can you please be clear, which Fido plan is better than this? If you mean the $50 unlimited talk plan, that’s significantly more expensive than this plan.

Cool Spinner, did you get voice mail for free too?

Hi

Rogers website says that iPhone and Blackberry are excluded…
