Fido Releases New $35 Unlimited CityFido Plan
Today, Fido released another bombshell plan with their new $35 Unlimited City Fido plan. Some of you may remember when Fido launched a similar unlimited calling plan for $50 back in December 2010, but that plan was not available to any smartphone customers.
This new $35 Unlimited CityFido Plan also temporarily replaces the existing $35 (2000 minutes) and $55 (4000 minutes) CityFido Plans.
$35 Unlimited CityFido Plan
This new plan from Fido is available on a 3-year, 2-year, and month-to-month agreement for all existing and new Fido customers in the CityFido Zones (Toronto, Victoria, Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg, London, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec).
For reference, the plan is detailed below:
- Price: $35.00/month
- Minutes: Unlimited Local Calling In Any CityFido Zone Across Canada
- Evenings/Weekends: Unlimited Local Calling In Any CityFido Zone Across Canada
- Features: Unlimited Canada/International Text Messaging (CDN to CDN, CDN to USA, CDN to International)
For those wondering the difference, aside from price, between the expired $50 Unlimited plan and this $35 Unlimited CityFido plan, it is that the CityFido plans have a specific coverage zone (normally smaller than regular calling areas) and any calls made outside of that coverage zone cost $0.25 per minute. Check out fido.ca for your specific city coverage zone.
If you’re looking to get Fido service, or maybe already have Fido service, this is the only plan to offer unlimited minutes from a major Canadian wireless carrier.
If you call in and have trouble with the rep, use the following plan codes:
- 3-Year: FCN360128
- 2-Year: FCN240128
- Monthly: FCNMM0128
Some quick notes:
- Available nationally in all regions except Quebec.
- New and existing customers.
- Available on monthly, 2, and 3 year terms.
- Expiring “until further notice”

This is a retention plan! They offered this as a retention plan for the past like 6 months and now they’re offering it to everyone, which is good for the general population, makes me wonder what I’m going to get now in terms of a retention plan.
They dont really give much off the 35 dollar unlimited calling. The only differnce is the retention one is un-zoned.
I agree. I got this plan as well from retention few days ago.
I don’t see anything anywhere that states you can NOT add a data plan, as stated here. If this was the case HoFo would be fuming right now…I see no such anger.
huh?
Where does this post say anything about a data plan?
It’s in the 1st quick note.
Some quick notes:
Customers will not be able to add data add-ons for smartphones.
Available nationally in all regions.
New and existing customers.
Available on monthly, 2, and 3 year terms.
Expiring “until further noticeâ€
“Some quick notes:
Customers will not be able to add data add-ons for smartphones.”
– That’s not true
Typo.
Ignore

I just realized that this $35 plan also has ultimated international texting… perhaps it’s time to switch that old retention plan with this one.
Unlimited Canada/International Text Messaging (CDN to CDN, CDN to USA, CDN to International) is a great idea. Just like email, should only coat some data not both. Wished Rogers have this option.
I’m an existing fido customer and saw this infomercial yesterday about the plan called fido to get detail and switch over plans I prevousily had the original city fido unlimited b4 Rogers bought them with no Unlimited text for $45 and $30 6g data with $7 call display and I had a $5 100 text plan so I switched over to the new $35 cityfido unlimited witch includes unlimited text and I still have my data add the on the only thing they charger extra is a $35 first time transfer/activation fee they might be waving that for ppl diving up for 2-3year contracts don’t know hope that helps anyone thanks
Why all regions except Quebec?!?
I think there is a typo in the plan details, regarding availability in different regions!.
It reads: “All except Quebec” but I live in Montreal and just switched to this new cityfido plan.
Fonctionne quand même dans la zone Ottawa/Gatineau, Montréal et Quebec
It is a typo. I am in Montreal and just switched to this new plan
fu%k this..no Quebec? Horrid sh!t
If you read other replies, it seems to be a typo because some people in Quebec got this plan without any problem…
And there is not mention on Fido’s website that Quebec is excluded…
Yeah, that retarded 35 one time fee they tried to charge my wife, she got waived off.
I like this type of plan. It’s cheaper and I get unlimited international text.
Whats the “plan code” for the retention plan?
Whats the plan code for the “retention” City fido plan, with no zones?

Read the entire plan carefully before u take a plan with FIDO. My experience with Fido has been bad recently. One of their customer service rep at one of their center told for the plan he was telling me I had all Canada free. Being my first number in Canada I totally believed that guy n went with the $50 plan. 6 months later now one day I get bill of $124. When I inquired they are telling me my plan do not have entire Canada free just Ontario n I got charged to call people in Alberta. I told them its a mistake as a result of mis-communication from their side n all I got was $20 discounted from my bill, they said I have no proof for what I was saying. So beware these offers are like sand pits read them carefully before u take them
