China’s 1st iPhone 5 photo has surfaced! From this photo it seems that the screen size will be larger than iPhone 4. There has been a lot of specualtion about a larger screen and maybe this will be one of the upgrades we will see when iPhone 5 is released this summer.
Based on the information, the iPhone 5 may feature a larger 4-inch display and an “edge to edge” screen which means a smaller bezel.

Looks good!! A step towards killing the bezel completely, especially that space between the top speaker/camera and the top of the screen. Now _that_ would kick ass.
You know what they really should fix in the next iPhone? The compass. The same nearly useless compass has now been in two iPhone models, but it really is right only about half of the time and never perfectly accurate

Are you saying that every time you use the compass in the map app its accurate?
Do devs have to change the resolutions for their apps than?
Ok so we’ve already gone over this several times since the first speculation. If apple changed the iPhone from 3.5″ to 4″ it would require a higher resolution screen to maintain the retina display ,which currently the iPhone 4 and iPod 4th gen have and has 326 ppi.
If we have learned anything from the past iPhone releases is that apple won’t change that anytime soon. The 960×640 3.5″ screen would have to be close to 1024×768 to get close 326 ppi.
My guess by this picture is that it’s probably either a prototype part or a mockup fake model like the many that are sold on chinas street markets.
Your conjecture is based on a screen having to be 326 ppi. A 4″ screen at the same 960×640 resolution would yield over 288 ppi which is still quite high. In comparison, the Nexus S with its 4″ screen is 235 ppi.
Just for the record, 1024×768 is a 4:3 aspect ratio; the iPhones all have a 2:3 aspect ratio, so a realistic bump would probably be 1200×800.
I question the source. More BS rumors.
why would they drastically change the innerds of the phone (as you can see with the FaceTime camera being on the right in that pic as opposed to being on the left on current iphone 4/itouch models).

i thought that too at first. but if u looks closely u can see the other side. also, the other side of the glass doesnt look like that. i know because ive had to change mine 😛
You loose the bezel you lose the space to hold the phone without settin off the touch screen! And seriously who the he’ll cares about a .5 inch difference in the screen. Oh wait fat fingered people!!!

A larger screen is not an upgrade…. the iPhone 4 already takes up enough pocket real estate…
