If you’ve been patiently waiting for the iPhone 4 unlock for Basebands other than 01.59.00, the Dev Team has some bad news.
According to a recent tweet from Dev Team member MuscleNerd, it is taking longer than expected to get the unlock:
Sorry, there’s no news on the i4 unlock for those who lost 01.59 (or never had it). It’s taking longer than we wanted 🙁
With Apple releasing iOS 4.3 today, the Dev Team may have encountered new problems with the unlock. Keep holding on everyone!

bought factory unlocked IP4 in Canada, tired of this game. No more waiting. will do the same on IP5.
COMPLETELY agreed with Speedlock. Spend the extra money if you truly need it/want it. WELL worth it.

They never had a unlock since 02.10.04 they are stumped without Geohots help. I suspected all along that they couldnt do it, iv been waiting since sept.
i wonder if the ASLR is preventing injection of code?
So, let’s recap here…
Johnny, who had an unlocked iPhone 3 or 3GS, and depended on the unlock, bought a new iPhone 4. He knew that there was no unlock for it but he had to have the newest and best!!!
Johnny now complains, whines and curses the Dev Team because they still haven’t been able to develop an unlock for his newest and best phone, that he knew could not be unlocked when he bought it.
Who’s fault is that???? Hmmmm…..

I ended up buying a used bb 8310 for 40$ as a second phone to use until unlock becomes available…its a nice little phone(for the price:)!!

Possibly…but I think that’s new in iOS 4.3. We still don’t have a working unlock for the new basebands under 4.2.1.
What does this mean for 3gs with 4.2.1 and 5.15.04
seriously its nt the same dev team..iphone company mst be paying thm alot for witholdng the unlocks..i hav been waiting for bb 02.10.04 unlock since last october..cmon dev team..let it go out..

You know they should just tell us that they can’t do it instead of these delays and false promises lol – I think apple has finally won this battle…

dev team announced that they wouldnt release it until 4.3 comes out because then apple would just close it. it would make sense to just make it work for all firmwares up to 4.3
