MTS Officially Launches Its 4G Network
Alongside the Rogers network announcement for Manitoba, MTS also has some news. The wireless company has made good on its previous announcement and has officially launched their new 4G network.
The new 4G network has been built according to the footprint of our existing wireless network which means that our customers will still experience exceptional coverage and reception.
More importantly however, the new network delivers High Speed Data to more areas of the province than before. Our new 4Gnetwork delivers High Speed Data to 97% of the population, improving on our existing High Speed Data network which reaches 72% of the population.
With the MTS 4G expansion, customers now have more wireless coverage, faster speeds and many more devices to choose from. While the iPhone 4 is not yet available on MTS, their network is prepared and can fully support the device.

Yea there plans are an absolute joke if you buy an iphone from an apple store ; 40 dollars min for data, plus 45 dollars for contract plan, PLUS 50 for activation with micro-sim. What a deal 🙁
Although I don’t live in Manitoba… So I am an outsider looking in. But the plans are really terrible. There is very little selection for you to choose and they are somewhat expensive. Even compared to Rogers plans. I suppose in time it will get better.
