MuscleNerd just sent an update regarding ultrasn0w for current unlockers on iOS 4.3.1. Ultrasn0w has been sent to testers, and the release will be tonight, unless there are hiccups!
This compatibility release will fix the ‘signal bar issue’ on iOS 4.3.1 and other issues.
This is NOT a new unlock, and is only for existing unlockers with the following…
Update on Unlocking Basebands:Â 05.14/05.15/05.16
Regarding the ‘possibility’ of a downgrade from the iPad 06.15.00 baseband, MuscleNerd believes it’s “99% doable, but other things always seem to preempt working on it”. For those with basebands of 05.14/05.15/05.16, the next unlock will have you update to the iPad’s 06.15.00, then downgrade to an unlockable 05.13.04.
This is exciting news for unlockers. Once released, you should see the ultrasn0w update by searching Cydia. Stay tuned!

I’m on 6.15.02 is there anyway to go back to 6.15.00 and then use ultrasn0w?
Hello all… A question (actually a couple)… Is the modem firmware the same as the baseband? If not where do I find the baseband? I have modem firmware 02.10.04 and have an ip4 with 4.3.1(JB using pwnage tool for mac).
The reason for the questions are I have the one signal bar issue, but as I purchased my phone directly from Apple, it is not requiring ultrasnow to be unlocked… So will this update for ultrasnow fix my issue too?
The potential for “downgrading” baseband/s is VERY exciting…………I’ll be pleased if it actually comes to fruition. As for redsn0w rc11 maybe Dev-Team could go back to the drawing board on that and get the boot logo animation to work as claimed. Read on multiple sites re: iphones that more than not are having issues with it not working. Too bad because it was a cool little tweak.
I am in the same situation as you. Baseband and modem firmware are the samething. I have 02.10.04 and 4.3.1 with one signal bar. I have already installed ultrasn0w and tonight when the update comes out i will update and the signal ball issue will be fixed. Don’t confuse with just because you have ultrasn0w installed that your phone is unlocked. Our baseband is not unlockable as of yet and we only are using ultrasn0w to fix the signal bar issue. hope that helps
Can someone give me a link to downgrade my baseband I really need to unlock my phone
If I go to a cellphone store do they do factory unlocks or pretty much what ultrasnow does? And by cellphone store I mean the tiny little spots in the mall not Rogers, telus etc..

UltrasnOw 1.2.1 is up! Installed (updated to…) the new version and the bars are did not change. After minor expletive rant… Uninstalled the update and then reinstalled and I now have bars!! All this for a cosmetic change… In the words of Pinocchio, “I’m a real iphone owner now” Thanks Dev Team!!
