In Bell’s Q1 2011 results posted this morning, the Canadian wireless company reaffirmed its position on wireless LTE that they will be launching in 2011:
Building on its mobile broadband network leadership, Bell today also announced it would deploy next-generation LTE wireless in certain Canadian markets in 2011, with full national deployment contingent on the availability of new 700 MHz spectrum essential to interoperability and roaming with U.S. and international LTE providers.
So far, the LTE race has been mostly between Rogers, Bell, and Telus, each of which has stated that LTE will be available in late 2011 or early 2012. The benefit of LTE is that users will be able to take advantage of wireless download speeds of up to 150Mbps, if the mobile hardware supports it.
As with most new wireless tech in Canada, LTE is likely to launch in major markets such as Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver and Ottawa before moving across the country.

True 4G… too bad the providers are already calling the current network 4G and putting the screws to consumers yet again.
Sweet I’m in Toronto, so whenever Apple releases the 4G capable iPhone I will be good to go. The providers have stated that it is just a name change as of now for there 4G network roll out later this year. Its also on there websites as well. If people can’t read than thats there problem.
