During the keynote, Apple also confirmed compatibility of iOS 5. iOS is compatible with:

Anyone else disappointed by nothing realeased today or soon? It’s just strange this year having a keynote at wwdc and not hearing about a new iPhone, or new iOS released this month of June.
Though the small disappointments I’m very happy with what I saw and I finally have a reason to give up my jailbroken iPhone 4.
Stoked for the fall.

late, 3G was dropped during 4.2.1.Â
Jailbreaking is for chumps. It was a waste of time before and it’s still a waste of time.Â

Can’t wait… Hope the beta isn’t locked for developers and some of us “chumps” can play early.
Ps. Suck it @ios5OH. Reading your comment was a waste of time. Dang, and now I wasted time replying to it.

Hmmm 3gs support but over the air updates? That’s really shitty news for jailbreakers as I know I don’t want an update installed on my phone without the ability to refuse it. Hopefully someone in the jb community figures out a way to disable this feature during the beta release to developers.

Don’t worry: did you notice the release date? It’s in fall 2011! That, unofficially confirms the iPhone5 release date! The new iPhone has always been released with the new iOS release!!! Now on with the rumors till then.
I am super happy with what is coming to iOS 5 but two key features that I wanted so bad didn’t make the cut, and I would have loved to not have to JB anymore. The ability to msg someone without having to leave your app, or reply to someone without having to leave the app that you are in ala BiteSMS. And an SB settings type feature. Having SB settings has made switching from wifi to 3G, turning on/off locations settings/Bluetooth, changing the brightness levels etc a breeze with a swipe of the task bar. Other than those gripes, can’t wait to get iOS 5 on my iPhone 4.

The ATO update is feature you will be able to control by turning it off or on. It’s not mandatory to do it.

Well with all of what iOS 5 can do now there really is no point anymore at all.. Apple really gave the jailbreak community a middle finger with this one!

Well maybe… But for some reason I don’t see it happening this year…
