Telus To Increase Pay-Per-Use Text Message & 411 Directory Assistance Rates

After laying out a plan to reduce roaming rates by up to 60%, Telus is now set to increase both the 411 directory assistance and pay-per-use text message rates for August 10, 2011.

  • The current 411 directory assistance rate is $2.00/call. The new rate effective August 10 will be $2.50.
  • The current sent/received pay-per-use text message rate from Canada to Canada and Canada to the USA is $0.15/message. The new rate effective August 10 will be $0.20/message sent/received.

The new rates are not yet updated on the Telus Mobility website, but users will have a notice coming to their wireless invoices and their devices via text message.

Who uses 411 when you have Internet now when we have Internet, really? And most people have a SMS plan. I don’t see this as a very big deal.
